On love

Mystical, powerful and always unforgettable is the quality of love.

Our capacity for love is what gives us the power and potential to uplift both ourselves and all that lives around us. It drives the passion to reach out and make a difference. It causes us to open our hearts and minds to think of others. Without it all would be bleak and lost and a suffering without end.

Below I have gathered a few famous quotes:

“Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.” Oscar Wilde

“Where there is love, there is life.” Mahatma Gandhi

“Love is the joy of the good, the wonder of the wise, the amazement of the Gods.” Plato

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” His Holiness the Dalai Lama

“For small creatures such as we the vastness is bearable only through love.” Carl Sagan

“Affection is responsible for nine-tenths of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives”. C.S.Lewis

The greatness of a nation

“The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
Gandhi
Below is a powerful and thoughtful documentary movie on this issue. Not for the faint of heart, but when is reality ever an easy watch when doing the right thing demands sharp dramatic change?

True

Interdependence

“A human being is an animal, a part of nature. But we single ourselves out from the rest of nature. We classify other animals and living beings as nature, as if we ourselves are not part of it. Then we pose the question, “How should I deal with Nature?” We should deal with nature the way we deal with ourselves…! Harming nature is harming ourselves and vice versa.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
